Sepoy Arjun Ram Baswana was born on 05 October 1976 in Rajasthan. He came from Budhi village and joined the Indian Army on 20 October 1996. He was inducted into the 4th Battalion of the Jat Regiment (4 Jat), serving as an infantry soldier. His service number is recorded as 318978.

In May 1999, 4 Jat was deployed in the Kaksar sector near Kargil. On 15 May, Sepoy Baswana was part of a patrol led by Captain Saurabh Kalia that moved towards Bajrang Post to check the area. The patrol came under heavy fire from across the Line of Control. After a prolonged exchange of fire and as their ammunition ran low, the soldiers were surrounded and captured.

Sepoy Baswana and the other members of the patrol remained in captivity. Their remains were handed over to Indian authorities on 09 June 1999. The post-mortem examinations reported severe injuries, and the incident became part of the wider record of the Kargil conflict.

Sepoy Arjun Ram Baswana made the supreme sacrifice while serving with 4 Jat during the Kargil War. He is remembered alongside Captain Saurabh Kalia and the other soldiers of the patrol for their service and sacrifice.
